This video shows a Suctorian, the genus Podophrya, that has used its tentacles to capture a variety of unicells and a small Volvox colony. The flagella of the Volvox provides the engine to spin the Podophrya. Wheeeeeeee, a merry-go-round of slow death as the tentacles suck the contents of the unicells. This video is from a collection in a large water trough containing aquatic plants at Hoffman's Pond and Garten Center in the Akron area.
